So I am too cheap to buy an SSD... but I need a new HD.

Thinking about either doing dual WD Scorpio Blacks, 2x 250GB in Raid 0 formation. (This would give me 500gb of room right?)

    OR

    1 500GB WD Scorpio Black...

EDIT: Possibly thinkg about the 500GB Seagate Momentus Hybrid drive... though I hear those are crap

i've run 2 raid 0 disks and it does run noticeably faster than a single disk so i would say it's worth it if you keep a backup of your system. it gets completely smoked by an ssd though. ssd's have dropped in price a lot and the new intel ones are coming out within a few months so the prices may drop even more.

Just picked up 2x scorpios at $54 each. Until ssd is in the $200 range for a 256gb, I'm over it.
