My question is to any 6970m owners who have stock video drivers from Dell that are unaltered from the factory. Can you please got to
"Control Panel>Uninstall a Program" and look and see if you have the "Intel HD Graphics Driver?" Apparently the 6970m driver from Dell includes the Intel Driver but I am just wondering if they just install 6970m driver or install both. I want to do my clean install like they do in the factory because I am having issues switching from 6970m to IGP. I want to install the drivers the way they do it in the factory to make sure I resolve my issues with the clean install.
    Thanks.

afaik with IGP you should first install the dell driver package and after you can upgrade the AMD driver set. In this way you will preserve the IGP driver and the ability to switch from discrete to IGP.

Some R3 owner will chime in with better infos anyway

As CptXabaras mentioned, the AMD driver package installs with both. I checked my Programs and Features and I don't have the Intel HD Graphics Driver on my list.

Also, when you are trying to switch from the 6970m to IGP, do you have any programs opened? This will prevent the switch from occurring.

    Thanks for the input everyone.
Thanks I will just install AMD driver then. It has nothing to do with having something open. After a reboot it may work or it may take two or three reboots to work. Switching from IGP to 6970m has never given me a problem. Hopefully the clean install will resolve my issue.

I wouldn't think you need a whole clean install to fix this. My IGP still works even after upgrading to 11.6. The only problem I have is the Fn dimmers don't work but I knew that going in. Sometimes my Graphcs won't switch over, but a reboot always fixes the issue. I assume you already tried uninstalling all ATI drivers and deleting the associated directories, then use CCcleaner to remove the registry stuff. Reboot. cCclean again. Reboot. Them reinstall. Worked for me.

I meant I am doing a clean install anyways because I just bought an SSD. Yea I tried all of that stuff and no luck.

Thanks. It looks like you did a clean install as well. Did you have any trouble installing the Dell Wireless Half-Mini Card driver?
