    Hey guys, I'm looking to order an m17x with the following config;

    i7-3630QM
    1080p 60 Hz WLED
    8 GB RAM
    1 TB RAID 0
    AMD Radeon 7970M 2GB VRAM
    Killer Wireless-N 1103
1 year warranty along with 1 year of accidental damage support

So my problem is that I really can't afford any more than $1700 at the moment and this system is costing me around $2300 with tax and everything! Even if I configure it at other boutiques like Xotic PC, I'm still only getting around $1880.

I heard on these forums that you should talk to a sales rep, so I tried that and all he could offer me was a 2% discount, and a 5% cashback dell card. Well, LOADS of my friends have received better deals than that :( For example, 3-5% off, with a free XBox 4GB. Some even got the dell cashback card as well!

Oh and I know I shouldn't believe every random person on the Internet, but I just watched this m17x R4 unboxing video and in the comments, some random dude said Dell gave him a random $900 off, leaving his system at $1427. o.o I know this sounds too good to be true but hey! Wishful thinking doesn't make you live less, does it?

Is there anyway I could also get some kind of deal like that? I read a thread here that you could PM some Alienware reps to ask for a quote but for some odd reason, I'm not able to PM anyone o.o

Any help would be awesome! Thanks!

you will need to have at least 5 posts before getting the PM option, once you get it, please send me a PM with your name, phone, email address and shipping address and I will get you best deal on this config

    Thanks

Thanks Rachid! Is there any way you could tell me what kind of deal you could offer?

I highly recommend getting 3 years warranty.

3 years warranty is a good option, things tend to go wrong :/

Things tend to go wrong? o.o That sounds really ominous and bad. I don't have the cash to afford that 3 year warranty though, I think it'd end up costing me another $500, $500 I don't have

Do you have some kind of personal experience with things going wrong?

All right, this is weird, I have 5 posts and yet I'm unable to PM anyone? Is this normal?

    Great build!

If you have to take some bucks off the configuration I'd start by choosing a small single drive option. You can get an SSD later on and install it in the secondary bay, or just another HDD and set up a RAID.

Well, the model I chose came with the Raid 0 as a default. I was actually wondering if I could just get a SSD boot drive and a nice spacious hard drive, but all the options are only mSATA and those are even more expensive :(

Finally was able to PM you, Rachid! So any other ideas, guys? :D

Nothing has gone wrong with this laptop yet. But only had it for 3 months.

My XPS on the other hand......

Hopefully this will be fine. I just like to have extra warranty for a peace of mind :D
