Hi guys I need to know if this is a good deal for $1100 Canadian.
link - Alienware 17 inch gaming laptop | laptops | City of Toronto | Kijiji

I'm very new to alienware and this is all alien to me. Here are the specs

    1100$
    17.3"
    4th gen i7 4700 6m cache up to 3.4ghz
    16gb memory
    1.5TB raid 0 HDD
    64gb SSD
    GTX 770M 3GB VRAM

    Edit - ----

Ok so i found a website for this exact model. I just had to add Canada to the search.

OK big question. What if this model is stolen? Is there anyway for the owner/cops to track me down. (I do not support stolen goods) I just want to know because this deal sounds so good to be true

It does sound pretty good to be true if it was never opened. I would insist on getting his details just in case the deal goes south, you can always call the cops and provide his name. If it is stolen there is no way he will want to give you that and you can just walk away. Maybe he can provide you with the System tag and you can contact Dell and check? Not really sure how else to check for a stolen Alienware any other way.

He probably paid under $2k for it new, and it is a used laptop so $1100 doesn't seem that cheap. You could get a new sager/clevo with similar specs for around the same price tho.

If it was stolen and reported to dell you would not be able to transfer the warranty, which is registered to a name and address when new. If they give you the service tag you can look it up on support.dell.com and check out the warranty status as this will show the owner and date of manufacture.

If it comes back clean then it was not reported to dell as stolen so even if it was stolen you will not be chased.

That is a really good deal, but I would do what Micky suggested. If they don't want to give you the service tag, you can probably bet something is up.

I could check on the tag details, but I would need you to get the tag number and the name of the person selling it. Send it to me on a PM
