    I just got this today from my friend oversea . But the LEDS won't show up when i open this lap. I asking my friend they sais this work fine when he use win vista 64 bit and don't know why the led stop working . So can ya guys show the way how to make the leds work? I just install win vista 64 bit . updrage Bios to a05.
    My service tag is: 8brv4k1 and i don't know what this alienware version. is it M17x r2 or r1?

    Can you be more specific? Which LEDS? and what happened to make them stop working? If you are talking about the keyboard try hitting FN+F11. If not then post back the responses and you should probably take your service tag off your OP. Also to tell if it is an R1 or R2 just flip it over there will be a little black sticker where the service tag is and it will say Alienware M17x-R2 if you have an R2.

    None of the leds are working . i try to fn+f11 but this not work too . I got Alienware command cneter and when i open this FX this keep saying :The theme could not be open . I try to make a basic theme when i open the editor page . nothing show up to me .

    I also wanna ask . do my laptop can updrage to core i7? and what kind of cpu i must buy to replace this q9000? Can i just use the normal cpu for destop or must ordered fromm dell? And where i can ordered this cpu ?

    Ok so you definitely have an R1 try the reinstall of CC if it does not work search this in your startmenu AlienwareAlienFXTester and post the Screen shot of it when it is done. Make sure you have the most current CC download it from here

    Also The highest CPU you can get is a QX9300 which is a decent CPU. It is currently not possible to use a Desktop CPU in these laptops as they use a mobile socket size.
