Hey guys and gals, as the title says I have an R1. It runs D3 fine but I wanted to upgrade it because I've had trouble with the stock video card in the past (nvidia 260) so I have some questions.

    1. Is it even worth upgrading my R1 (video card, processor) or is it obsolete?

    2. If it is worth upgrading where would I go to get the parts? I've checked on the upgrade options for my comp on dell's website but it doesn't offer any options.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

I would say depends on your specs. I believe someone has done 5870 Mobility crossfire into an R1, a huge step up from 260M. 5870M = desktop 5770 = desktop 4870 = recommended card for Diablo 3. You can go on eBay, here in marketplace. 5870M MXM 3.0b is like ~130-150.

I love my r1, and I havent found anything that i cant play with it yet. I upgraded my cpu from a t9600 to the qx9300 pretty cheap. You can buy one brand new from StarMicro
I got mine just before christmas at 285.00, now they are sell around 400.00, but these are actual oem cpu's not engineer samples or quality control samples or anything.

As far as video, my 280's work perfectly flashed as 285's, I havent even considered upgrading them...
