I have been having problems with my 6870m card. When i restart windows(only with the resart option not power down then power on) My systems screen flashes multiple times and displays a black screen for anywhere from 30 seconds to a minuite. If i switch to the intel hd 3000 then restart it does not do this. I have gone as far as removing the gpu and starting and restarting and if the gpu is not present/enabled it does not have that issue. I have called dell and they want to replace the mobo when clearly it is the video card. I want to try and flash the vbios to stock and see if that helps.

If anyone has experianced this and knows whats up i appreciate the help.

M17X-R2 MR 5870 mod to 6870M with OverDrive Support

I found this thread, looks like the orginal 6870 vbios is posted. Hopefully it can you man. But I would call dell and tell them it's the video card messing up, explain you remove the video card and the machine boots just fine, so replacing the mobo is a waste of time.

So even after a new video card replacement it did not fix the issue. So I decided to try and fix it myself. I downloaded the unlocked a08 bios and started twiddling with some features. I ended up disabling the igp and it works amazing. There is not one issue. If anyone else is having problems like I am. Boot post delay, artifacts when using aero and some blue screens pm me and I'll link you the unlocked bios.
