I'm looking to buy a mouse (wired) to go with my M17x R3, I'm also looking for a decent laptop cooler for the same. The cooler shoudnt be heavy though.
My budget for both of these things is ~$150.

    My Location: Ontario, Canada

I have the Roccat Kova [+]. It has customisable lights and the finish on it is exactly the same as the soft touch on the M17x R3. The best cooler is a book propped under the back of the laptop to allow good airflow.

I bought the Cooler Master Notepal U3 and like it a lot.

Most of the other notebook coolers are annoying because the front edge of an R3 is already high up, so adding more height to the front just hurts my wrist. The Notepal stand/cooler is really low profile in front as you can see from the picture.

Guys, I'm from Canada so only suggest Canadian retailers to buy a laptop cooler/stand from. The shipping cost is going to be a lot if I order from US.

The U1 is for small laptops. The U3 would be a good choice for the OP if available. I have the U2 for my M11x and it does a decent job.

I haven't had the need for a cooler yet, but if I do, I will just prop the back of the notebook up like others have done.

I just got the Razer Naga Molten & the Coolermaster U3

    Razer Naga is pretty good.
    I also have a g500, g700, sidewinder x8, sidewinder x3 razer orochi and cyborg rat 9.

If you are using your mouse for MMO gaming I'd recommend the Razer Naga, if you are using it for FPS games I'd recommend the g700 or cyborg rat 9

If you are using it for non gaming purposes the MX performance mouse from logitech is fairly good.

I also recommend the Coolermaster U3.

For mice I'd been using a g700 for ages (I'm a long time fan of Logitech) but had to stop cos it was hurting my wrist. Currently using a Razer Orochi and once you get used to the smaller size it's a damn good mouse.

I recommend Mionix NAOS 5000. For me it is a good gaming mouse.
For low budget -> Roccat Kova[+].

I also recommend Zalman NC2000 as laptop cooler.

I went with the G700 which I use wired or wireless. Jumped on it with a 50% off coupon which logitech seems to be throwing around fairly often these past few months.

If you're interested in the coupon sign up to their mailing list and wait.

Fell for the coolermaster SF 19 with the usb 3 and it keeps the laptop very cool.

Plenty of room for the alienware. No sliding or moving. Love the integrated ports. Turned off the lights; but if you like the alienware fx it adds more glitter to your world.

Only possible negative is that it requires an outlet, it's not usb powered (not that I'd expect it to be). It's luggable, not what I'd call portable but I'd not call the alienware portable either.

As always it's preference, especially with input devices.

I own the cooler master U3.. and makes no difference on my M17x R1. But the good thing about it, is that the laptop fits really well on it. and leave the keyboard in a really nice angle. In my experience, best cooler of all times... Just rise the back of the laptop a few inches and you are done.

    I'll add my 2 pennies,

I don't see the mouse recommended that often, but I absolutely love my Cyborg R.A.T 7 mouse. The adjustments to fit my hand and playing style is very nice. It's wired, and very responsive. Granted, I don't have any other gaming mouses under my belt to compare, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

    For the cooler,

I do agree, simply raising the back of the R3 does a great job. Although, I play with the laptop sitting on my lap 95% of the time and require a cooler for it to sit on, actually prefer it now. I use the generic Targus sold from Best Buy for 40 bucks. it works great. Many, many hours of gaming and not a single overheat from my 580.
