    ::EDIT::
    Solution, make sure your Current Bios is at Default settings before flashing to the unlocked A12.
    ::EDIT::

    I recently bought a nVidia GTX 780m and plan to swap it out with my current AMD Radeon HD 6990M.

    And one of the first things I need to do to get it installed is Flash my BIOS to an unlocked version of A12.

    I tried using this one: M17x R3 BIOS A12 - unlocked & 'SATA fix' - Downloads - Tech|Inferno Forums

    And was immediately given the 8 beep no post issue, I was forced to blind flash it back to the stock Dell A12 BIOS to unbrick my system.

    Does anyone know of a working version of unlocked A12 anywhere?

    Odd indeed, hopefully someone can help. I have an m17x r3 and used that very bios from that site to unlock mine to be able to preselect graphics between integrated/discrete.

    Guess I can count myself fortunate i didn't get that issue.

    Hi, that is strange, I used the same one on my R3 without a problem :confused:.

    Have you checked the iGPU is working by taking out the dGPU? Do you have a 120hz model?

    :)

    Thanks for the assist guys, after messing with it I found it's some sort of issue with putting in the unlocked BIOS after having disabled a few things in the Stock A12 BIOS.

    I reused the same unlocked BIOS with the stock A12 set to Default settings and everything worked perfectly, already have my 780m installed and running well.
