Where is the link, My R4 came with A02, newer R4 come with A04 bios..
article only gives link to A02..

Does it also fix the Msata, manual says it runs 6GB/s.. well my 6GB/s crucial m4 runs only 3GB/s..

Hello, the other changes would be the update of the thermal tables and general firmware. Will definitely escalate your suggestions though.

There are no stability issues like the R3 had with only 1 true functional SATA3..
But Dell still advertises Msata as 6GB/s so yes please do escalate this.

And please do not discard this as a no support because i added hardware myself.
The msata card i have is 6GB/s so it's either a compatibilty issue or the Msata port is not 6GB/s as advertised.
Wouldn't be the first time this happend. R3 was advertised with 2 fully 6GB/s ports and only 1 worked stable and then in A10 bios 6GB/s got completely removed..
Been there done that got an R4 as replacement.

here are some screens, specificly nr 4 that shows 3GBs:

    overview:

    port0 2.5 inch SATA3 Crucial M4 128GB FW 000F

    port1 2.5 inch SATA3 Crucial M4 128GB FW 000F

    MSATA SATA3 Crucial M4 128GB FW 000F

Picture of the crucial M4 msata.

Sorry for saying, but there is a slot for the WiHD-Card. Why shouldn't it be used for that? And the funny thing is, you can download the WiHD Software on R4 Support page, but it's not working yet. So that's why i'm wondering about it.

    @XennOX.
There are only two Ports (0,1) for Sata III on HM77. They are used for the two 2,5" slots.
mSata is @ Sata II because it's on Port 3. And 2,3,4,5 are Sata II(or Sata I if the device does not support Sata II like ODD) only. So you have to Change the Motherboardlayout to get Sata III on mSata.

yes i know so why does dell advertise that Msata is 6GB/s.
Was coming to that point but now you spoiled it :)
It's hardware technical impossible due the chipset or it's some hybrid frankenstein system board that detect if port 0 or 1 are not SATA3 discs put Msata in SATA3 mode.
I certainly do not hope it's hybrid..
Alienware-Pablo_R please explain this.. did dell not learn of the R3 SATA3 failure?

No it's not detectable.. Would increase the number of incomtabilities.

Where do you've got that screw for mSata?

that's just a screw i borrowed from an other system which died on me, had a wwan card which uses same screws.

    water and computers hate :)
Sorry for hyjacking this thread but i called support many times and no one seems to know the awsers on my questions above..
Probably this will end up in a A01 manual where dell changes the sata info and put it on SATA2..
That happend with R3.. A00 Manual said full 2 ports 6GB/s and A01 manual removed all notations of SATA3. it's a solution for legal issues but kinda cheap :)

thanks for the update but on the driver page only the A02 04/30/2012 version is available so I assume that is not the updated one?
