Hey folks,
So was browsing through forums for Shogun 2, and came across a poster raving on about the brilliance of the 11.4 ATI drivers.
Jumped over to where they're located/discussed HERE and downloaded them, always happy to see new Drivers. However, the installer for this doesn't have CCC or anything else usually packaged up with ATI's normal releases. For that matter, i don't even know if it a release for any of their mobility cards....
So with that said, the question is: is anyone out there using it, is it any good, and if so, how would I go about getting it to work?
Sorry for the trouble, would normally just ask Dr. Google until I found a fix, but school is kicking up and trust you all more than my sleep-deprived brain right now.![]()
EDIT: Yes, I do realize they're an early preview/post of the drivers...despite that, everything I've read so far seems to suggest they give much better performance in several of the games just released in the last few months- DA 2 and Shogun 2 being the big ones. And when school stops being difficult would love to have buttery smooth framerates on them.

afaik there is a preview driver wich is not the definitive one. People do talk well of this release and AMD it self is kinda proud of it. But i would wait for his official release before messing with it. It shouldn't be so far from being officialy released.
and now that we are talking about it... where is 11.3?!? i mean, we are at 11.2 right now, they are going to release 11.4.. there is something missing -

Hi Reborn,
How does this driver set perform? where you using 11.2 before? any word that you can share about the difference between the two of them? -
Yeh I used to use the 11.2 driver set.
I must say that these new 11.4 drivers are pretty good. No real complaints about anything I can see thus far. I haven't really had much time to test to many things though.
I haven't run any benchmarks for a really long time so I can't really give any info on that front.
As for games it seems to be running pretty well and smooth.
All in all pretty good so far.
If there is something that you would like me to test I'll see if I can accommodate.

well for example my only complaint with 11.2 is the unability to change color settings through CCC (under desktop management tab), which result in flickering. The way around this problem for me has been leaving the setting on default under that tab and the AMD color control activeted, and change them through "my built in display".
If you can give it a try changing colors settings under Desktop Color Management Tab>Desktop Color, i would really apreciate it -
Does the computer still go to sleep?

You can PM me if you like and I can send you a link to download the test bios, or you can email [email protected] and he will send you a direct link - just ask for the test bios related to the below thread.
You may want to have a read of the thread that I created some time ago about this issue: http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...-issues-when-using-reference-amd-drivers.html
Hope that answers your question about sleep problems! -
These driver are good for m17x r3 ? With a 6970m ? Thanks
-
It would seem that the flickering is still evident. So hopefully it is fixed before the next proper mobility drivers are released.
Cheers. -
I would give them a go. See how you like them and if performance is great then fantastic. So far on my systems they are running pretty well.
Let us know how you go if you do decide to try them out.
Cheers. -
Would the driver version show up in GPU-Z because it's so new? The installation was exceptionally quick and it didn't disable CrossfireX until reboot like it usually does when I get new drivers. Are they installed or not?
*Edit - Nevermind. Didn't download the Mobility version >.< -
i'm pretty excited about 11.4 I just hope that when they are officially released the desktop and mobility drivers won't be different versions.
-
Installed the 11.4 Beta and got a nice boost from my cards. Heaven 2.5 and mark06 is better scores. So far no problem, everything is running nice and smooth.
These have been by far the easiest to install and run the best of all the builds so far. Very happy.

Thanks -
Do i need a mobility mod to install the 11.4 RC3 driver for my 6970M? Because i've tried to install them but it don't found my graphic card.
-
these drivers don't seem to change much performance wise from 11.2 IMO
-
No you don't need modder for these driver on the AMD website.
-
but why he does not recognize the graphics card?
-
-
Anyone tried Crysis 2 with these?
I am using RadenPro and forcing a Fear Profile and getting smooth FPS at max but just wanted to know if there was better performance gain in C2 -
