Since I Played with Borderlands 2 and Guild Wars 2 for quite some time, Let's see if we have some improvement for this game. For those who are eager to try the Crysis 3 beta, Just try this driver version and post your review....

I just upgraded to this driver yesterday and had horrible issues. Driver install went fine, but when I tried to run Vantage or 3DMark11, the screen would turn black and I had to hard power down in order to reboot the system (hold down the power button).
Thinking it was simply a problem with the benchmark utility, I decided to try a game...loaded up Diablo 3, and had scrolling bars. So I gave up and went back to 13.1.
In the past, I've had really great luck with the Beta drivers...but this time...I definiltey wouldn't recommend them. At least not for 6970s...if people have better luck then I did that would be good to know.
Anyway, just wanted to share my experiences from yesterday. -
Should I download AMD Catalyst Application Profile - 12.11 CAP2? The only game I think I might benefit from is Max Payne 3.
-
bigtonyman Desktop Powa!!!
good to know. I'll stay away from them for the time being. -
No. The driver contains newer profiles. Apparently it also ignores any that you install as well. Source
-
You know I actually haven't had any problems. I went from 300-450 no upclocking on crysis 3 beta to 96% load 40fps high settings + FXAA. It's a beautiful game.
-
Saw Crysis 3 beta thought I'd chime in
I download the latest Nvidia beta drivers, which improve Crysis 3 beta performance..
On Ultra with SMAA x1 I sit around 30 fps :S
Medium with AA off I'm at over 60fps, often 70.. some random drops to 50 every now and then...
how are the AMD cards doing?
-
Installed them yesterday, it terms of performance i think this ones a little better then the old ones (13.1).
I did run some 3dmark scores and the average went from 7425+- to 7475+- what's again a improvement.
Every new driver on this moment gives a certain performance boost. so still some untapped potential from the 7970m
Mine runs on 980/1450 if you question the score.

Yep. Black screen trying to run Vantage with the 13.2 beta as well. Noticed AMD already released beta 4 of the 13.2 today from beta 3. So download often because their download page does not indicate which beta revision it actually is as far as I can tell. It was beta 3 yesterday I believe.

Click the link below the beta driver section on the AMD support page "Find out more information on beta version fixes/updates" to get more information on the current beta revision.
-
Quite the same, if everything seriously maxed out, then the 7970m has to seriously work for it.
With the new beta drivers I get about 25-30FPS with everything (also SMAA full) maxed out. This used to be about 15 with 13.1 drivers, so massive improvement for me at least -
I'll try this and tell you guys if I notice an improvement in gw2
-
Thanks for that info. As usual I missed what was right in front of me.
-
13.2 Beta 4 is already there, give me again a little improvement in 3dmark11 score. It's nice to know.
13.1: 7375+- score
13.2 beta January 1: 7425+-
13.2 beta 3: 7475+-
13.2 beta 4: 7505+-
Going very nice if we look @ performance.
My 7970m is overclocked, but still i see alot of improvement.
I dont know what my scores before where with 12.11 and so, but was for sure lower. -
bigtonyman Desktop Powa!!!
Might have to see if get some decent gains on 6990m. I'm still running the 12.11 beta drivers since i know they are stable.
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S2 running Resurrection Remix -
Install went fluently and the drivers have been very stable the few days I have them installed. It's hard to tell wether or not there is a performance increase in gw2 due to the fps fluctuating so much, but it does seem a bit better.

Just out of curiosity... How's Guild Wars 2?
I used to play WoW a lot but haven't gotten into MMOs in a while
What are your thoughts on the game? Have you played WoW or similar games?
Graduated high school last year and just working til July and then I go army... so all my friends are long gone in university apart from one. So we're thinking of starting something completely new, would you recommend guild wars? -
Absolutely dude.... I played from the 1st beta come out and it's just awesome. No more camping, no more talk to NPC, doing side quest, and go all the way back to NPC just to complete your side quest. No more other player steal your loot, No more rapping your wallet for DLC content, etc. Like the review said, it really breakthru old MMO classic gameplay. The Community is also very good because people intend to help each other. And the best of all, how the Group event and Giant Bosses will wipe out your party in single swoop....

think im going to put these on my new r4, came with the dell drivers preinstalled according to driver easy this is what version it is (dont know any other way of checking) ,driver date 03-07-2012, driver version 8.934.2.0
is there a good way to uninstall the old driver, or is it just a case of installing the new one and it will remove them (sorry - im a noob) -
Wait...did I miss the link for the beta 4 info??
-
you use the first link, its swapped to the beta4.
-
Heard of this a few days ago, AMD Catalyst Uninstall Utility.. if I'm not mistaken that should remove everything
Restart after removing the drivers though, and then install the new ones
AMD Catalyst Un-install Utility -
Played it for literally like 10 hours yesterday with my friend :| It is awesome! Graphics are insane too, maxing it out no problem
Lvl 15 Thief on Far Shiverpeaks now
Thanks for the info btw
-
Ive installed this on top of drivers, and i installed it after uninstall. Dont get any change in performance and install works as good both ways for me.
Not able to OC my GPU. The computer shuts down or freezes when trying to start the afterburner application.I can install it, and the combustor runs good.
CPU overclocking works better, but prefer running with only 5 % and no throttlestop atm since temperature can be an issue running heavily oc'ed and i dont need more CPU speed. -
This when trying to unlock voltage control.
-
Thanks mate, exactly the type of thing I needed -
Just a heads up that apparently there's a beta 5 now
-
If you play blackops2, dont install beta 5. I have huge screen issues with it tearing up bigtime.
Have installed on top of old. Uninstalled all, and installed again and still same. Gone back to beta4. now all ok again. -
CptXabaras Overclocked, Overvolted, Liquid Cooled
I would like to be able to run the game in the first place... everytime i run it it goes black screen and that's it. Once i managed alt-tabbing out from the game to do the first mission.. but at the next cutscene it goes black once again...
Doesn't matter if with CF on or off.. -
If you try this.
Open your steam.
Go to games in top menu.
Click your game library.
Right click on the game multiplayer versions, think its options, (have norwegian so not 100% sure, but its the bottom one)
Local files.
And do the integrety gamebuffer verification thingy.
