    Hello all,

I have installed a new matte AUO display a couple of days ago on my Alienware 17 R1. Unfortunately, I didn't take note of the exact specs prior to installation.

But, I believe it is this model: http://www.panelook.com/B173HW02 V1_AUO_17.3_LCM_overview_17335.html

This is the old LG: http://www.panelook.com/LP173WF1-TLB3_LG Display_17.3_LCM_overview_17534.html

I've noticed that vs. the matte LG that was previously installed, this screen has a more pronounced "screen door" effect. It also almost seems like it's flickering super subtly. Colors and everything else seem about the same as the LG. Maybe a little worse. The viewing angles might be slightly worse. I can't recall much else because I haven't used the old LG display in over a month.

Overall, I want to say that this display is worse.

Any ideas? What's the best panel for this laptop @TheReciever

    Thanks

Yep, going to return it. I instead bought the LP173WF1-TLB3.
