    Hey all,

Does anyone know if Dell will bring out a new model of the gaming Laptop AlienWare 17? The current model has already been out there for a while. Doesnt Dell bring new model out every few months? I thought the current gen of Alienware laptops have only been released less than 7 months now. I should think Alienware only release brand new models every few years, not every 6 months like Apple. Component options will change in the few years they sell each generation of laptop.

Dell will try to synch new models with Intel platform changes (Broadwell coming out). Unfortunately Broadwell is set to launch late 2014, though 800 series Nvidia and 9000 ATI series should be coming out, and newer Alienware models should be incorporating new MXM cards of those. I'd expect if Broadwell is launched Q4 of 2014, that early/mid 2015 you'll see a new Alienware model. Dell typically likes to keep the chassis for at least 1 generation (R1/R2; R3/R4, AW17) so don't expect the new model to have too much different in terms of chassis design.

We don't have any info on that, it could take a couple months or even a year.

Broadwell entered mass production this month, so it may be late. Alienware usually releases new products during the second quarter of 2014. (I don't know how many times I've said this, lol, has to be dozens. A lot of people keep asking the same questions.)
