So i received a Alienware 17 (i7-4800, 780m) today and the speakers sound is not working. Headphone/Headset sound is working though.

Anyone got some ideas on what i can do to fix this issue?
Sound driver is recognized still (Shows up on Device manager).

    Thanks

As you have just got it I'd just call them up and let them fix it. You can still return it if you are not happy with the response (unless someone knows an easy fix?).

That's what i did. A tech is coming over on friday. You think he could do the favor of installing an mSata that i got just for this? Since the laptop will be open, might as well right?

I don't really see why not. (though what might happen is you having to install it yourself, after the tech has opened up the laptop - they might not be able to install it for liability reasons)

Cool. Depends on the tech, mine is friendly (why do I know him ) and did some extra work for me (for a tip). Worth asking - or he may give you a 'personal' price to do the work ;).

    Good luck

True, they should be able to do it without any issues but it really depends on the tech. I believe the mSATA is easily reachable on the new platform. You could even try doing it yourself.

Isn't it underneath the palmrest on the new 17s?

I think it's in the lower-left corner of this picture. I wouldn't call that easily accessible... Right next to the speakers though!
