The drivers for the new alienware laptops are up on dells site. This will be good for anyone with a 780m in an existing alienware since the nvidia 700m drivers are now available on dells site. Time for some testing on my system!

Cool, good to hear. Just don't get tempted to use a later driver from NV yet. The 7xx desktop guys have been left out in the cold with no working driver without modding. Does it have your machine ID though to install?

Downloading the dell driver right now, will report back to see if it worked.

Update: Driver did not work. Once nvidias website releases drivers for the 700m series, we should not have to mod anything correct?

Try both for OC, temps ?

No, you will still need to as NV will not be adding the machine ID. Either use J95's or try the inf at: LaptopVideo2Go: Drivers
They seem to add in most machine/card ID;s. If they work for you then you have a place to get the latest drivers in future ;)

the two versions J95 linked, why would it matter which INF file is used?

All I know is there are over 30 of them in that folder, and that the ones you replace have to match the driver version. The ones on LV2go often change the inf name - go figure?

hm, so every time a new driver is out, you have to change the driver version somehow in the INF? didnt know they were linked, thought the INF was just the ID and you add the ID to a new driver and boom done.

I've never actually done it - got too confused, but yes each driver version needs a modded inf with the extra ID in it. Check out LV2GO and you'll see the link for an inf if you select a driver version. You have to manually save it but the name should be there so you know which one to replace.

The link is that the installer checks the card ID you have installed against it's inf list along with the machine ID (laptops only) as long as both are there it continues, otherwise it's 'hardware not found' :(

Use the .inf files with the corresponding drivers (installation failed>close dialog>Display.Driver folder replace .inf), theoretically dell drivers are optimized. Many times nvidia changes entries / sections w/ each driver release due to optimizations etc...

Could you monitor temps and report back ?

the modded inf wont work with 314.22, copied it over and gives me the error. its almost like the nvidia display.driver folder isnt even copying it in.

This would be the biggest factor for me. Running x64 I can't be running modded drivers as I like to actually leave the driver signing check on.

Doh sorry man I did test it but for some reason linking that site sometimes does not work. Go to the main drivers page and then select the driver version you want, then the download link, then the inf link, finally use 'save as' in the browser and make sure the type is NOT txt.

Edit: looks like the file is created on-the-fly so not linkable :(

crysis 3 has been stable for about 15 min so far at full software overclocks (+135/+500). On the 320.18 driver it would crash within 3 min. This is a good sign!

    Windows 8 disable driver signing.

    1) Open command prompt (Admin) windows key + X
    2) Type "bcdedit /set {current} testsigning yes" (without quotes) enter>reboot
    3) Install
    4) Exit test mode "bcdedit /set {current} testsigning no">reboot.

    Re-edited 314.22 removed 680m entries, temps ?

    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_119F&SUBSYS_05511028 Device Manger>Display Adapters>Details>Hardware ids>match ?

max setting at 1080p and FXAA, im seeing 35 to 50 fps during the first mission depending on the scene. However crysis 3 still crashes and tells me that the dxgi device was removed, only happens in crysis 3 and is more frequent with any OC
