    Hello All!

    I just received my new laptop...720 QM, XFire 5870s, Raid 0 (2x500).
I ran a game and some demos and wasn't shocked at how fast it was so I ran 3dMark Vantage and got these scores:

    P2792
    CPU : 3773
    Graphics : 2570

It isn't in stealth mode...why aren't these scores higher?
Please point me to a helpful thread or explain what I am doing wrong.

    Thank you
    Manx

Trust me, it's steath mode. Also make sure you have crossfire enabled. Not sure how you turn stealth mode off since I don't have the software installed at the moment and am doing a lot of benching. Hopefully somone else can chime in. Also make sure your set to high performance power settings

Push the flying-saucer looking symbol on the touch bar to open the alienware command centre and look at alien fusion. If it's in safe mode it'll say it in massive letters. Another thing to check is under the advanced power plan settings make sure the ati settings are set to performance.

Thanks so much! OFC it was in stealth mode, guess I still have to learn how to tame the beast!

Can you supply me with a good link on how to do basic OC on my M17xR2? I don't want to push it, just faster and stable.

    Thanks again!

No problem, visit the benchmarking thread. The easiest and best way to do it is Unclewebbs throttle stop. You'll find it in his sig. I'm not sure it works on the 720, but I think there are people there that have OCed the 720. Probably through using SetFSB. If you want to start running benchs or overclocking, you can post in there.

Just came across this thread and thought i would add my two pennies worth...maybe you guys can tell me if my 3dmarkvantage score is normal for my system.

NOTE: the system it was ran on had a 720qm cpu and 4gb ram (not the system in the spec below which is my replacement and yet to be tested!)

    Score i got was: P12048 3dmarks
    10753cpu
    12552 graphics

    Any info greatly received.

CrossfireX ati 5870's....coupled with 720 cpu and 4gb ram.....wasnt sure if that was normal for an "out the box" system with those specs....obviously wasnt expecting 20k , just wanted to know everything was working as it should!

The system i ran it on is going back as i have my new system (signature specs) ready to set up. Wonder what that should score??

With dells beta i got it upp to 13900(gpu) :D no oc what so ever.. So its probably just to sit tight untill dell releases a new and more stable one. 3dmark 06 is a bit lower, 12500 with crossfire enabled.. Even lower than my old 1730 that gave me around 12500+(8800 gtx sli)

3dmark06 should be way higher than that. should be in the 16k range stock if you have the same specs.

Even my stock M17x pumps out 15k+ on 3dmark06....

    Do check power settings etc.

What settings should we check and where?

BTW, my 3dMark06 score on my stock system (as below but with a 720qm and 4gb 1333) was 13559 - that right???
