    Paquettej, welcome to NBR.

Set PhysX to what suits you. If you choose the CPU for example, it will be in charge of calculating PhysX. If, per example you don't need or can't run SLi with your program/game, you can set it to the secondary GPU (SLi will be disabled too). When set to Auto, PhysX calculation will automatically be assigned to one of your GPUs or CPU.

As for the PCIe Gen2, do a search on this forum using Google, it has been explained a few times

Just wanted to add...these drivers work great. I'm on GTX 280M SLI. Been using them for 3 weeks now. Unlike several drivers in the past, if I disable the Integrated GPU, I can still change screen brightness using the Fn+F4/F5 keys / brightness settings - many drivers allow that only with integrated enabled and lock my screen in full brightness if it's not enabled.

just my 2 cents, (M17x R3 GTX580M) I tried this driver yesterday, installed fine but it seems sometiing was fixed and something broke for me.
I'm testing with farcry2, batman arkham city, and bioshock 2.
Farcry was fine in DX9 and better in DX10. In DX10 under the old driver it was not 'smooth', even though frame rates looked good - it was the same slightly joggy movement as Arkham city in DX10 was before they patched it.
Arkham city had slightly improved frame rates but nothing noticable in DX9 or 10.
The biggie was Bioshock 2, (patched) this was nowhere as smooth when moving but frame rates again were good (50+). No difference between DX9 or 10. This game worked fine under the old driver. Had to drop the resolution for it to be playable.
All options are cranked up to max on each game. Decided to roll back since I'm playing Bioshock 2 right now and under the 285 driver this game plays awesome with all options at max at 1920x1024.
Roll back was interesting. First attempt looked like it went fine but when attempting to turn on 3D the laptop restarted. A remove and reinstall cleared this up.

So I did a clean install on a SSD which I am very impressed with. However, I cannot update my graphic drivers to the latest beta drivers that I originally had before I installed the SSD and did a clean install. It gives me the message "NVIDIA Installer Cannot Continue" and "The NVIDIA graphics driver is not compatible with this version of Windows. The graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware." My windows is completely up to date and I have the throttle fix from widezu. I had the throttle fix on my old HDD before I updated to the beta drivers so that rules that out for a problem and my Windows 7 is not up to date. What do you guys think the problem is? Or is this driver not compatible with 580m? Who knows but I would definitely want some opinons on how you think this can be fixed.

you could use a modded inf from laptop2go. Not sure why the installer isn't detecting your card anymore though.

So I did a repair install of windows (for an unrelated reason involving Origin), and that seems to have fixed my problem. It must have been some sort of registry error. I was able to get these drivers to install without issue.

Hmmmmm.... now why didn't any of your suggestions work. OH! I KNOW! Make sure to download the 290.53 drivers for windows 7 64 bit not 32 bit. I am such a dumb a$$.

Really? Fn+F7 doesn't work for you? It works well for me with 285.62.. haven't tried 290.53

Ditto. I think I am going to run these new drivers on my friend's computer. FN+F7 was always a nifty feature and work around during later drivers since the new drivers only allow one-way switching through the taskbar icon.

Thanks for posting this and thanks especially to Katalin for uploading the appropriate INF for us legacy users (can't believe my 260m is a legacy product now that nVidia doesn't even bother with it). Was able to upgrade my ancient drivers (186.64) to these and get sound through my HDMI port out to my TV :) Say goodbye to burning dvd's anymore and crappy dual layer garbage that won't fit on a 4.38GB disc.

So recently I've noticed that the temps on my second GPU have been incredibly high, even when idling (around 80C). I'm wondering if this is related to these drivers. Oddly enough, the fan speeds are not clocking up at all, except for my primary card, and the heat coming off the secondary card really doesn't feel that warm.

I'm really not sure what is going on with this.

    **Edit**

Well, it didn't take me long to figure out what the problem was. I guess the fan wasn't spinning for some reason. I was dreading calling tech support, so I blew on it a few times. I was close to opening the sucker up, but my better judgement said that was a bad idea, knowing my luck. I plugged it back in and turned it on to look up the dell number, and the fan kicked on, so I guess I blew out some dust that was keeping it from running? I'll have to keep an eye on it, but for now I appear to have escaped tech support. woohoo.
