I just got my R2 yesturday. Everything is running right as far as I can tell. I have been playing BC2 and Left for Dead 2 on it and they both run great. Just one question I ran 3DMark06 and scored 14528. Is that a normal score for my system?

    Specs
    i7 740
    6 Gb Ram
5870 in Xfire with RGB screen.
    2 x 320 Gb HDDs in raid 0

Thanks for the help and all the great info on this site!

Thats a perfect score... my config pulled a 16k on a fresh install but after 2 months of use with all the bg processes (norton 360, outlook, alienware command center etc) its 15k... so dont worry if urs dips to ~13k in a while... its normal (depends really on the BG Processes)....

You can always turn off background processes that you don't need, especially when you game or bench.
Oh and WELCOME to the forum.

CPU is the bottleneck (as far as you can speak of that with these speeds, as you really simply have a blazing fast laptop).

I have a 720qm and 4870 xf and i'm about 2000 points below your score. Don't look to much at the scores of the pro's who tweak, OC and fiddle everything to get to those scores, they mostly have modifications on a default setup (albeit OC ing or other stuff).

    enjoy it :)
