Okay, just got my M17X R3 a few days ago and I have two questions:

    1. How do I know which graphics card is being used?(in the sense of integrated vs dedicated)

    2. How much space do I need for a back up disk used strictly for factory back up? I'm thinking of getting a flash drive, doing a back up on that and then putting it away unless I need to return to factory settings down the line. The only things I've installed so far is Microsoft Office Student edition and McAffee Virus Protection(which I got free from my University).

Look in the Icon Tray. If you see the Intel HD graphics icon you are on the IGP, if you don't you are on the 6990M. You can also right-click the desktop and click Configure Switchable Graphics and it will tell you what you are on and allow you to switch if you so choose to.

Oh and do yourself a favour and ditch mcafee. It wont catch acold and slows the PC down greatly. Go with microsoft security essentials or Avast. Essentials is free.
