After a bunch of replacements I noticed that the order on dell.com almost always says something like "Part # Module, <Random Stuff Here>, Price" but this time it doesn't say the whole "Module" part, which has me wondering if this machine might be new rather than refurb. the CSR i spoke to told me i was getting a "Brand new" machine, but i wasn't sure if that meant brand new to me, or brand new in general. Thanks in advanced.

Story is, i paid for an inspiron e1505 a little over 4 years ago, worked my way through the ranks with an XPS m1710, M1730, m17x-r1, on my r2 now, and this is gonna be my 2nd r2. haha
-
Looks like extended warranty has been good to you. Hmm time to get 4 yrs on mine. -

Now if only I can upgrade my wife like that. Loyalty is one thing but M17xR2 vs. Inspiron e1505 is too good to resist -

So anyways, haha, back to the original question, is there a way to figure out whether it's new or refurb through the order number, or would I just have to wait? i'm not really that concerned whether it's new or not because if it works, it's not a big deal. The thought of new just peaks my interest though, kinda like buying a new or used car, a new car is just more appealing

It is new.
-
if it takes longer than a week you are getting new. Just look at the info if your laptop is stuck in production for a while that means it is still getting built. When i got refurbs i got them with Next day and if they put the order on a weekend i would have the system by Tuesday or wed at the latest. If it is stuck in production for a week or longer than a good chance it is New.
