I can't find one anywhere. Not even from Dell.
Does anyone know where I may be able to find one please?

Cheapest i've found themLast edited by a moderator: Nov 21, 2016 -
Thanks maxslo. The image shown is of the R3/R4 battery which worries me as I have had no trouble finding batteries for those models. It is just the R1 and R2 that seem so elusive. The guy doesn't accept credit cards or PayPal either which is a bit of a red flag. Have you purchased from him before?

No lol xD in the photo is R1/R2 battery, R3/R4 looks diferent, check again
....
It's not a guy it's a company and they sell a lot of dell/aw stuff:

M18x R1/R2 battery: [LINK REMOVED]
And plenty others, the only problem is that shipping is high cost so it might be worth purchasing everything you need...
No i haven't personally bought from them, but if i had to, that's where i'd buy itLast edited by a moderator: Nov 21, 2016 -
Sorry mate, if you check out the battery on Amazon you will see it is exactly the same but as shown in the attached screenshot, it says it is NOT compatible with the R2. My battery is solid, it isn't 25% hollowed-out as with this one. Of course a compatible battery need not be identical to the original part but nobody lists this battery as being for use with the R2 other than the Chinese site you suggested.
A guy can be a company. This is a guy. Go through the motions of purchasing and when you get to payment you will see what I mean. Alternatively, look at the attached screenshot showing that payment has to be made to an individual, not a company.
One thing I will agree with though ... he is definitely the cheapest I have seen so far.

@7leagueboot Here is a link that looks good.

Also this has been asked before in this thread. Look for the rubber feet on the battery for the R2.

That's the one I ordered deadsmiley. I will just have to pay for it this week and wait to see if it's really R2 compatible.
Thanks to both of you for your assistance.deadsmiley likes this. -
Oh ok i guess this is a pretty common practice in china,
Now that i think of it, in the past, whenever i was buying from companies in china, i've always been paying to a guy, not a company... dunno what's up with that
Good luck with your batteryand report back with how it works

It has the right part # but as you can see, about 20 to 25% of it is hollow. I have the original Dell battery in mine and it isn't hollow at all. You have an R2 yourself, so unless you are using a compatible battery, check yours out and you should see what I mean. Anyway, I ordered one earlier today but as he doesn't accept credit cards I will have to wait till my bank opens on Tuesday so I can make a wire transfer.
I will definitely let you guys know what it is like if and when I receive it.deadsmiley likes this. -
It's hollow because it's pictured from the bottom side xD the one you bought and deadsmiley linked is just pictured from the top side

When I placed the order I received a message giving me the guy's bank details as shown in a previous post. He asked me to make payment and then send him a scanned copy of the completed wire transfer. On his contact page he gives 3 email addresses. All turned out to be non-existent. Great! I just got taken for $50+.

Found these emails, do they look familiar?

Edit:
Ok, used a different search query and i've come up with this:
http://www.mydealz.de/diverses/kennt-jemand-jlnlaptopparts-com-262632
It's in german, but from google translate i've gathered that the last post says they've not recieved their items...
Sorry man... gotta give them credit tho, the site looks pretty good :/

All the mails I found on their site used the domain jllaptopparts.com and that's why they all bounced. The domain is jlnlaptopparts.com and that doesn't bounce. However, as the German buyer stated, the guy does not respond and PayPal cancelled his account, probably due to complaints of non-delivery.
Pehaps the biggest red flag are the incorrect email addresses because the company would be losing plenty of business if potential customers cannot contact them. The fact that they have not corrected the error likely means it has been done on purpose. In short, it is a scam site and I fell for it. -
Everywhere are sold out :/...
Maybe check this website? http://www.getpartsonline.com/f310j.html -
Thanks maxslo but I think I will leave it at that now. I would rather put the money towards a new laptop.
-
Just a note to confirm that jlnlaptopparts.com is a honey trap.
Over 2 months have passed since I placed and paid for my order and despite having sent the guy a copy of the bank wire transfer to his account and a chase-up mail, he has not replied, nor have I received the battery.
If anyone has had a positive experience with this company I would appreciate hearing about it. -
Quick update on the saga with jlnlaptopparts.com.
The site has a Skype link on it so I tried that by saying I had a question about a laptop battery. Within 5 minutes I got a reply from a guy called Jesper Zhang asking me how he could help. I explained I had purchased a battery from his site but after 2 months still had not receved anything. I provided him with a copy of the order and the payment confirmation. He replied he would look into it and then vanished. That was 4 days ago and of course he never came back to me.
Since then I have attempted to contact him 3 times while Skype was showing him as available. As soon as I send my message his status changes to away. Then after a couple of minutes he appears as available again but he does not reply.
I'm only telling you guys this so you don't get caught by this scammer because as maxslo correctly pointed out, the site is professionally put together and at the prices quoted must be drawing in 100's, if not 1000's, of unsuspecting buyers all who will lose their money and have no legal recourse.katalin_2003 and maxslo like this. -
Thanks for the followup
... another good thing is that google also points to this thread when you search for "JLNLAPTOPPARTS SCAM"
so hopefully your experiece will help a lot of others. -
@7leagueboot
I came across this company, http://www.batterywood.com/ an example http://www.batterywood.com/laptop-battery/dell-alienware-m17x-r2.htm
However I don't think it is an actual Dell/Alien but a 3rd party or unauthorized builder of oem parts, but don't know.

If you can find it in a US store but they won't ship it to your location, let me know and I can see what we can do to reship it to you over there. -
Please contact the police about this site. There are a lot of people in the whole world being scammed by this freak! See :

If we stick together this can be stopped and maybe we get our money back...TR2N likes this.
