Ok so my m17x will be here soon and I was going to do install my own Samsung SSD as dells SSD's are crazy expensive.

My question is should I use norton ghost to clone my os,alien fx from the stock 500gb HDD to the SSD or just do a fresh install and download all the drivers?

Any known problems using norton ghost?

If I were you I'd just do a fresh install, and then you'll only download what you need eliminating the useless crap on your HDD atm

I would just do a clean install. Have all your drivers downloaded and ready beforehand. I used this method. The only software I was missing was the webcam software, but you can download that again from Dell or use something else. This is also your chance to install a copy of Windows without the Alienware graphics, if you prefer that. I used a plain OEM Win7 DVD instead of the one included with my system.
