    Hi chaps,

I ordered a new machine from a Dell reseller on Friday and was wondering what the general opinion was. Below is the spec, but do i go for the 4870 in sli or a single 4870. Plus are the R2 units any good or am i likely to experience issues

    Thanks in advance

You got yourself an excellent system I would stay with the 4870s in Crossfire and OC your 720 using SetFSB(I am currently running my 720 at 840 speeds). The R2 units are simply amazing and the 4870 systems have less issues(technically even the 5870 units are mostly fixed) Enjoy your new Alienware :)

Oh and you can also OC the 4870's to get similar performance of the 5870's BTW. The 5870's are not a huge leap ahead of the 4870's more like a few steps ahead with some new shoes. :)

Are you in the US? I'm surprised 4870's are still available.

Why? 4870's are great cards + he is buying from a reseller.

Yes, they are great, but I was surprised they are still sold at this time. Dell has taken them off their website so I assume the seller is selling an old stock or possibly refurbished?
