I bought a used m17x from someone and they said that they sent it back to alienware to fix something with the video card and when they got the laptop back the lights no longer worked. None of the aliens light up or the keyboard. I reinstalled windows and took the laptop apart and it looks like everything is plugged in. I have an "unknown device" showing under usb devices in device manager. I am not sure if the two are related. does anyone know of a way to fix it. I would be happy with just getting the lights on the bar above the keyboard to work so that I can turn the volume up and down easily, right now, I can't see the buttons to do it.

I am thinking it is an r1 it has a 1440x900 screen (nvidia gtx 260m/9400m video card), intel core2duo 2.4ghz cpu...so Im thinking that its an r1. I have reinstalled the video card drivers multiple times, I have installed the newest version of command center and when I start it up I get a .net error and it doesn't detect the keyboard. I have reinstalled .net too...
