Hi guys,
I was using my M17xR2 today when it froze up without any warning - I tried the usual means of getting to the desktop/task manager but nothing worked so I rebooted the laptop using the power button.
After going through the POST I was confronted by the above message "No Operating System Found"! After SHATTING myself I rebooted a couple more times and eventually went into the BIOS to make sure both hard drives were being detected (which they were) then went into the RAID config menu to make sure my array was still there (which it was).
So now I'm stuck.... does anyone know what might have caused this and how I might be able to get my baby up and running again? Is there anything I can do to access the data stored on my 2x drives?
Thanks in advance...

Sounds like your OS is corrupted. If you have the Windows installation CD/DVD, put it in, boot from it and attempt to repair Windows.

SOLVED!!
I feel soooooooo stupid - I ended up finding out that the BIOS was trying to boot from an external hard drive that I just happened to have plugged in at the time!
As soon as I unplugged the drive the system booted as normal
Thankyou for your reply Chuzzz, using the Windows DVD was the thing that eventually lead me to the external drive as the cause - when it got to the partition selection part of the install all of my partitions were still showing as intact, and the external HDD was coming up in that list as well!
I can only assume the shock of seeing that message come up on my screen and me subsequetly SHATTING myself caused me to throw out all my rational thinking
Thanks again all
No operating system found??? HELP!
