Check my video guys. I was texting and accidentally dropped my phone on the top of the touchpad then my r3's screen went off. I was surprised because the drop wasn't too hard or high. Then suddenly when I picked up the phone the screen went on. Then I started to move my n8 around and the sweet spot on the touchpad. Something in my N8 really is turning off my screen. Tried my bb on it and it stayed on. Anybody with a Nokia N8 experiencing this? Does anybody have an idea what's going on?

Wow never saw something like that happening before..
What if the N8 is switched off? it does the same? and if not, and you put it in that spot and switch it on, will it shut off the screen?.. damn that thing swithced off even the alienware logo..
What connection where active when you discover the issue? (BT, wifi?)..
Edit: just out of curiosity i've tryied the same with my N900 on my R2 and couldn't reproduce the issue -
None. No wifi,bt,network connections. It even does that even if the phone is turned off!!!! Weird right?

N8 has magnetic compass in it, right? (the one that works with or without gps)
Edit: it does it even with the telephone off and without battery in it? -

Your phone is triggering the megnetic sensor in the palmrest that makes the computer think you are closing the lid thats all. I keep a small magnet at my work desk so I can shut my monitor off real easy.
