    Hey guys!

Please don't flame, but I have no idea on how to turn my integrated webcam on so I can use it to take snapshots or videos. I have an Alien M17x R2. It has WIN7 HP installed. I know it's working because it comes on for the face recognition though I don't have the option fully set up.

I just want to turn it on, when I'm ready to use it for quick pics or to make a video. I tried to google for the answer, but they all talk about drivers and such, nothing on "here's how to turn your camera on dummy" lol...

I know about the FN+F9, but all that does is pop up a little camera that either shows as faded, with a line under it, or a fully visible camera, depending on how many times I click the buttons; right now it's on the FULL camera. (Hope all that made sense, lol)

I have a M2010 and it's wasn't this much of a mystery to figure out! Geeez!

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys!

    Hey ;).

Sounds like all you need is to fire up the webcam software. Don't know what the R2 came with but my R3 and R4 have 'Live! Central' installed under Integrated Webcam on the start menu. It's a licensed app so is not available from the dell drivers page. You need to use 'My Dell Downloads' where you register and any pre-installed software linked to the service tag will be available.

I can use live central to take pics or video.

    Good luck.
