Hey guys, just wanting to ask a question about
notebook coolers for the m17xr3, i never owned
one before(notebook cooler that is) and was
just wondering if there anyoying to use since it
props the laptop a couple of inchs off
the desk so wouldnt it be awkward to use the laptop
for palying games and such, im looking at getting the
sf-19 storm? Also can you use the sf-19 on your lap? Any other reccomendations on good notebook
    coolers for the the m17xr3?

    Cheers.

    I use the Zalman NC2000.

Newegg.com - ZALMAN Notebook Cooler Model ZM-NC2000 Black

I am very pleased. It lowers my temps under load by at least 5 C. I don't use the laptop often while on the cooler (it's usually closed and plugged into a monitor) but the elevation and incline is slight so there is no issue using the keyboard. As for the fans, at the highest speed setting they are about as loud as a very quiet desktop. At lower settings they are basically silent.

I also have a Zalman, and I can vouch for everything Tostito said.

sf-19 is pretty big, i would only recommend it if your using an external keybiard since it props the laptop another 1" off the table making typing pretty difficult. i recommend a lapdesk if your planning on using on your lap alot.

I own an SF19 and am not impressed with the cooling at all. The fans leave a LOT to be desired. It affects my temps by around 1-2c if I am lucky. Been contemplating getting 2 new 140mm fans to see if the fans they ship with are just junk.

i second this, putting the fans exactly where you want them is great.
