AW crew - I have an M17x R3 for review.

    1080p screen, i7-2720QM processor, ATI 6970M graphics, 8GB RAM, 2x 750GB 7200RPM RAID0.

Pretty ballin' so far. I miss the dual GPUs of the previous-gen M17xs but still, it's a fast machine.

Are there any specific benchmarks or games you would like to see run on it? Also, if there is anything you think I might not notice in a week of ownership, I'm all ears.

Could you monitor temps during benchmarking such as FurMark? Max and average(when the fans are on full blast) during them. It would be great if you could, thanks.

Maybe Rift? The game gives any machine a run for its money.

I'd like to see general FPS output for the following games at full settings. (DX9/10/10, do state the DirectX in use):

    - Metro 2033

    - Crysis

    - Crysis Warhead

    - Crysis 2 (DX9 and the new DX11 mode maybe?)

    - RIFT

Benchmarking, it'd be nice to see a stock 3D Mark Vantage run, as well as an overclock if possible perhaps.

And if possible, like Jas71 said, could you maybe monitor the temps during these benchmarks?

Screen quality, can you review the quality of the screen? Overall quality and maybe some pics with a camera of the screen displaying gameplay/desktop/movie?

And perhaps a CrystalDisk bench on that RAID0 set up I see you have there. That'd be awesome too.

Also log temperatures of CPU as well as the GPUs during testing perhaps?

I hope post quest doesn't sound needy/rude in anyway. And I hope I am not asking too much my good NBR Mod.

    Thanks

EDIT: Added RIFT to list, this game has a seriously bad engine but really does make temps go a little higher than most games.

Benchmarks and statistics are cheap and easy - every review of this laptop has tons of benchmarks. Don't spend all your time running it through game benchmarks and not leave time for a deeper assessment:

I would urge you to give us your personal opinion on the FEEL of the laptop: does it seem to have good build quality? Does the keyboard feel good? Does it blow hot air out at you and make for an uncomfortable experience? How do images look on the monitor?

Comparisons with this laptop's direct competitors (Asus G73, Clevos) in all the above categories would also be useful for those of us who are cross-shopping.

Also, it would also be supremely useful to take a photo of the power supply and show it next to some other object so we can get an idea of how big it is.

    Just a few ideas! :)

So far it has been an amazing machine. There have only been a few very minor quibbles, if you're looking for other things besides benchmarks to review. Other people on the forum have reported them as well.

    1. Loose battery. The battery isn't perfectly tight. Seems silly for such a well-engineered machine to have such a problem. A little electrical tape fixes it.
    2. The screen is pretty tight against the keyboard. It's a good idea to get a cloth to put between them.

Otherwise, it seriously has been perfect.

    I appreciate the suggestions.
CrystalDiskMark, Crysis, 3DMark Vantage, temp monitoring - definitely. Our reviews include an analysis of the screen quality so yes to that as well.
