    Hello Everyone!
Been a VERY long while since I've updated anything and was just seeking a little expert advice regarding GPU Driver and BIOS.

As you can see I have the R1 with Q9000 CPU and GTX 280 SLI.
Im running A03 and Dell AW Drivers 8.17.11.9686

Could I please have some input into which BIOS and GPU Drivers I should upgrade to. I'm just looking for the most amount of performance without many glitches or bugs. Basically what's new, safe, reliable, and works well with my system? I'm not really into going crazy with these things, and whenever I pick one it seems to mess things up more.

Thanks so much, and I appreciate ANY suggestions!
    Cheers!

    Hey there chiefs.

Nothing better out for the system bios yet. A04 and A05 were pretty much hit and miss still. So stick to your A03 chiefs, its still the best and most stable performing.

As for the best GPU driver for your cards its really hard to say. However best to start from the top I guess and see how they work for you. If their no good then you can work your way down. Their working great for me atm and many others while some are still having a lot of issues with many drivers. It really depends so give them a try chiefs and see how you go and like them.

    NVIDIA DRIVERS 260.89 WHQL
These are the very latest GPU drivers available. I'm assuming your running Windows 7 64bit.

    Cheers. :)

It really does varry that much from user to user huh? there's not just one general good one?
Also quick question regarding the uninstall procedure....

I uninstall both my discrete and integrated GPUs, then restart my PC.
When I turn her back on, my pc automatically installs some drivers before I get a chance to install the ones I want.
Do I uninstall them (the automatic ones) and then install my selected driver, or do I just install what I want when my PC boots up and ignore the other (automatic) ones?

SO SORRY if that sounds super confusing. I just want to do it in the correct order.
Also when installing the new drivers should I have Hybrid enabled so it installs on all my cards then just go to Discrete??

    THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!
    :)

    btw what's with the "chiefs"?

Hey I thought I was speaking to the Chief and leader of your tribe :D :D LOL. If not send the Chief my way and I will have a few words with him. :p :p ;) :D

heheeh no much chiefs. I just find it a nice friendly way to greet people with eheheh.

Okay to KO you old drivers. You will need to run driver sweeper and CC cleaner in Safe mode. Once you do that then restart back into normal OS mode and your good to go. Install the newest latest drivers.

Yeh in terms of Nvidia drivers atm because they are pumping out so many its hard to say which one is best for ones particular system. Even if they have the exact same software and hardware running. It is quite strange though but seems to be just the way it is as we are viewing from so many users responses here about different successes and problems with drivers. So yeh some get lucky if you call it that while others face endless driver problems and can only use older or much older ones.

Yes have Hybrid SLi enabled in the system bios. Then it will install the new drivers for all your GPUs. No need to repeat the process. It will do them all for you at once.

    Cheers. :)

Thanks so much for the help!
So when I run CC Cleaner, what should I tell it to check for? Just registry, or what else?

And for Driver Sweeper am I selecting NVIDIA- Chipset, PhsyX, and Display?
All this comes before or after I uninstall my drivers too?
    Again, Thanks so much again!

    :)

    Hey there chiefs,

Yeh for CC cleaner just run the reg cleaner after driver sweeper.

In driver sweeper just select the Nvidia display option. Don't worry about the chipset and physx. Don't kill the chipset. Then you will have to reinstall that again as well and that can cause you problems ole.

Run both in safe mode. Then restart back into normal OS mode and install the new set of drivers.
Do this same process for any other driver updates in the future or just for your testing fun lol.

    Cheers. :)

    Alright, groovy mate!

    Last thing though.
So do I run the cleaners in safe mode before or after I uninstall the drivers, and do I take out the discrete or integrated drivers first (or does it even matter)?

When installing new drivers do I need to be in safe mode?

    Muchas Gracias!

    Hey there chiefs,

Sorry I was out for a bit.

Just run driver sweeper and cc cleaner in safe mode. Then once your done restart back into normal OS mode and install the new drivers.
No need to uninstall discrete or integrated. Its all done for you chiefs.

    Cheers. :)

no luck for me with these new drivers, 2 freezes within 3 hours -just during browsing internet, exactly the same issue as with any other previous verde drivers, and there is no increase in fps on crysis benchmark, so went back to my favourite 197.84

    cheers

I installed them couple of hours ago, ran 3dmark vantage and got ~11800 points, roughly with 1k less than with p06 beta drivers from dell. After closing 3dmark, opened up gmail and bam freeze. Back to P06 for me. :)

Ive had no issues with the drivers as far as game performance, no lock ups, no freezes durring web surfing. My cards run a little hotter at 91 for the master card. The problem is that my slave card isnt down-clocking, it stays at max clock speed, but the temps drop to 60. By the way rumnimg 9800m's in the area51 m17x.
