    It's all kicking off .

Good old Tom's hardware, it was a BBS when I first come across him! I dug into a couple of links and I'm still unsure if I get the full benefit. One article on DX12 said 'after Fermi' for fully compatible hardware? At least that's a way off right now.

Looks like it could generate a lot of upgrades, if they can get the driver right (and the game authors on-board)

    What's BBS mean?!

Articles I've read on DX12 say Fermi onwards are supported, so I think you're good on that front with your 675M, but you'll probably have upgraded long before it's introduction in games! (2015 sometime I think?)

(This new driver's not related to DX12 though, apart from increased efficiency).

Oh dear, showing my age! Back when the internet was military/academic (pre www) you could still join a forum on the Bulletin Board System. You run terminal emulation software and dial in directly using pre-defined communication strings. All text based (at an enormous 1200/75 baud!) but it was the start of social networking.

Guess you're right about me upgrading way before DX 12 becomes an issue ;).

Haha! I do remember the beginning of the popularity of the internet though, when Netscape was the browser to use back in 1996 or so, when I was at uni.

If I did, at least I'd save some money! (Also less scope for embarrassment, but eating alone is no fun!)

Are these or the 334.95 the way to go for an R4 with 780m, Wins 7? If so, is there somewhere to get the nvdmwi.inf other than the forum posted above?

I tried the 334.95 Quadro drivers for a while, but I didn't like the way they looked in games (might have just been my mind playing tricks on me!), performance was OK though. I've gone back to the 335.23 Geforce driver now, I'm not going to try Quadro drivers again unless there's a problem with the Geforce release. You can get modded inf files from this site:

I wouldn't bother with this one. Lots of complaints from 7xx users and no real gains seen.

The whole driver thing is about to go to another branch, 337 I believe. It looks like a big change to the way the driver operates. NV are claiming amazing performance increases and it's mooted for 'early April'. Probably fix a bunch of stuff and create some new problems going on the past year

They are also dropping support on older models, the intention as far as I could see was that the first 337 will be the reference driver for pre-fermi cards. I'll try to find the links and update here.

if this driver lets me run games at 1080p instead of 900p then i'll be happy..or at least have stable fps.

I don't think it'll be able to make up the difference between 900p and 1080p though, 1080p has 44% more pixels to render, the new driver isn't going to be increasing performance by 40% I highly doubt.

Ahhhh - good luck with that, mate. Hopefully he'll be a good 'un for you and you'll be back up and running in no time on the new driver. Gonna have to do pretty much the same myself shortly - got a new Mobo with a GTX765m soldered on to it coming for my little baby.....

    268mb - pretty big driver!

Just tried the latest beta driver, 337.50. Well, these drivers weren't that exciting for me in the end, no real significant performance improvements in comparison to the latest whql driver.

3DMark11 was identical, except a slight increase in the 'Combined' test(CPU & GPU test).

Arkham Origins, Arkham City: no change. (surprised about this one, as was advertised for a big increase)
Metro Last Light: 4% increase in fps, and this is the game that taxes my CPU the most.
    Tomb Raider: 2%
    Grid 2: 2%
    F1 2012: 1%
    Bioshock Infinite: 1%

Skyrim quick subjective test didn't notice any improvements, GPU usage still low in some areas.
Titanfall gaming session still locked at 60fps, and still some drops in fps in some areas of some maps to high 40's, low 50's.

The most significant thing I noticed about these drivers is that game loading screens are noticeably shorter, for instance Tomb Raider seems to load the benchmark almost instantly. For me this is the only real positive about this driver, although I can't knock them for small increases in fps on some games, but it's not noticeable. I think if you had a dual core, or a really old Quad Core, then you might see some improvements with this driver, but Sandybridge quad core & up I don't think there are big gains.
