Here you go: NVIDIA DRIVERS GeForce 340.43 Driver (BETA) BETAWin 7/8 64bit
All comments welcome.
So far: Download and Express install worked fine with GFE.
Quick FPS comparisons:
Dirt Showdown, Same at 52fps
Batman AO, +1 at 53fps
Bioshock Inf, +3 at 69fps
Hitman Absolution, +5 at 48fps
Tomb Raider, same at 61fps
F1 2012, +1 at 93fps
Metro LL, same at 22fps
Thief, +5 at 35fps - visually smoother![]()
All on max/ultra settings against the last WHQL 337.88.
Dunno if I am experiencing a placebo effect but the benchmarks just look a whole lot better! I've been looking at it for ages and I think it's something to do with AA since all edges are super crisp![]()

Hi MickyD, cheers for the heads up with the new driver, wouldn't have spotted it so soon otherwise! Tested these myself just now vs the previous whql (337.88).
Metro Last Light: +2%
Batman Arkham City: +2%
Batman Arkham Origins: +2%
Tomb Raider: no change
Bioshock Infinite: no change
F1 2012: - 4% (that's a minus sign there in case you didn't spot it!)
Grid 2: no change
3DMark11: no change
3DMark Firestrike: no change in GPU score, but 2% decrease in CPU score
I'll keep these drivers, on balance they're a little faster, and no issues so far. (Fixes the 3DMark Sky Diver benchmark black screen problems by the way).MickyD1234 likes this. -

Thanks Robbo
. I'm liking them right now. Power management and Boost are working great with clock speeds matching the game requirements - finally! No need to force max performance any more
.
I checked out Sky Diver and yes it is fixed - identical numbers though... -
Nice! Will download when I get home.

Just a quick update. When playing Titanfall yesterday I didn't remember feeling any slowdowns in the 'Colony' map with this new driver. It used to drop into the high 40's in some places on that map, and I would feel the decreased responsiveness, but when playing yesterday I don't remember feeling that lack of responsiveness. I'll play it again today sometime and pay closer attention & report back if I was mistaken.
(Although there was a small approx 50MB Titanfall patch yesterday, so praps that has something to do with it). -

Do you see any visible difference in quality of the benchmarks? -

Anyone kind to share th .INF for GTX280M here?

The only bits I could say for sure look better with this one was, the boot of your car at the start. With the older driver this is washed out. In the BM one the flames during the smoke/objects/physics bit are just better looking.
Like you, no performance increases to shout about. No need to jump on this one if all you're looking for is a performance increase, and all your games are working fine ATM -

Just something to be aware of if you have a 120hz display and an upgraded GPU (and possibly win 8 specific?).

Word of warning guys. If you update to this driver and you own an 880m and also want to over clock. Disable secure boot for good. Secure boot restricted slv's vbios for the 880m on my AW 17 with this particular driver. I went through a ball ache and a half to resolve the problem.
Edit: see my posts from last night in John's 880m review thread for more info. I ran some tests to show that I managed to get my 880m over clocking nicely again. I'll add more results as I go along.MickyD1234 and Robbo99999 like this. -
I have a 780m with the 120, and YEA refresh issues on startup, screens black, close the lid, reopen..and fixed,
-
anyone have USB issues with this upgrade?
-
This driver has literally killed my chances over clocking my 880m from here on out. I flash my gpu with Slv and John's modified vbios. Every time I restart, I lose the ability to over clock my memory and voltage. I then have to completely reflash the 880m to enable to over clocking of my memory and voltage.
-
that sucks, i don't have that issue with the 780m.

"BTW similar how the blank screen issue started (680m/3D Vision)" unbelievable, all over again! -
It's happening purely because Nvidia can't leave things alone.

Fixed my usb issues by reintalling USB 3.0 host controller from intel. all worked, tested again by a clean beta driver install, same, reinstalled intel usb 3.0 and all fixed.

Previously I reported that Titanfall seemed a lot smoother in some areas of some maps (but I wasn't 100% sure), which is kind of subjective because there's no in game benchmark. I've been using this driver with Titanfall for the last week (or days) since it's been released & it really is a good driver for Titanfall. I always run FRAPS when playing my games just so I can glance at the fps if it's feeling laggy, and I can confirm that on the 'Demolition' map where in one place I was getting 50 fps & feeling of lagginess, now it's 75 fps in the same place. Other maps where it felt a little slow, in those places things are feeling smoother. An excellent driver for Titanfall in my eyes. (Didn't see much improvement in other games, a few percentage points here & there, like I outlined in my last post in this thread).
Nvidia 340.43 Beta out now.
