I received my r3 last night with the new 580m video card. I have a problem that I have run into and many other r3 owners with the new nvidia card will run into. The problem is that there is no driver anywhere whatsoever to download. I checked the resource dvd that came with my laptop, I checked dell website, windows updates, and even nvidia website, there is no 580m driver to be found. I installed a second hard drive in my computer but now I cant get a driver to install. I seen a member in the m18x thread say the same exact thing he went to install ssd and boom no driver to install. This is going to be an issue if there is no driver to download then installing a second hard drive will be useless without correct driver to install to make the card work. If anyone knows a solution to this problem I would greatly appreciate it and many others will as well. :)

275.50 with the LV2GO INF does not support the GTX 580M.

Check laptopvideo2go.com. Some of the recent drivers with modded infs may work.

right now there are no drivers for the 580m, not even @laptopvideo2go.

the only version that seems to work is 269.03, unfortunatly there´s no location to download.

i filed a request for new 580m-drivers at the official nvidia-forums and it looks like they (inofficially i guess) PM you the solution by modifying the .inf-file...

It won't work because there are more lines inside that INF that needed to be entered. That forum official didn't give you all the required information needed. If all the Vendor ID information is not entered into the INF, the installer will fail to see the 580M.

I'd wait till LV2GO has modified the INF to support the Dell version of the GTX 580M.

Anyone know where I can download the latest WORKING 580M driver? I can't even run benchmarks because my driver seem to be outdated...

dxdiag only shows some random .dll files as main driver...

EDIT: Not using the Alienware btw I just realised lol

    Evening All,
I have an MSI GT780DXR and recently bought a Dell GTX580m, anyone know of a driver / bios setup that would work for this?
Been reading and trying various things, to no avail thus far.
    Regards,
    Jah

Just for everyone's information, flashing the vBios fixed the card and it was recognised fine...
Bought some quality thermal paste, applied it correctly (after lots of research and reapplications).
However, when playing the latest game I have (Wildstar), the card heads toward 75 degrees celcius then reboots the computer. After experimenting with various thermal paste applications, it can stay under for a couple of minutes with the fan at full, but always restarts.
My previous video card died playing this game...
    Thoughts or theories, anyone?
    Regards,
    Jah

Did u put thermal pads on the vRAMs? You need to have them there.. Also make sure your heatsink is fully in contact with your card.. You might need to use thermal pads to bridge any of the gaps..

Yeah, I have thermal pads on all the vRAM, and the thermal paste is high quality and applied correctly.
The laptop has been restarting more frequently, and other forums suggest it is the video card itself. A replacement is on the way, all going well, that'll be the solution and problem.
