How do you adjust the core clock;it's greyed out and I can't use the slider

Mate the shader slider is always 2x the core. So adjust that and the core sliders will go accordingly.

Thanks Widezu I'm new to this Nvidia thing

What is a moderate overclock for this? I plan on using Widezu's vbios later

Um, the highest OC for stock vbios is probably 740/1600 memory could go higher I suppose.

Mine does 750/1700 easily on .87v, and sometimes as high as 775/1800, but you need the .92v vbios for any real overclocking.

When I was benching my m11x, I always used Nvidia System Tools. It put the overclocking option in the Nvidia control panel and was pretty handy. Thats another option to check out and see if you like it.

If I recall correctly, once downloaded and opend install just the "Performance" thing a ma bob. Been over a year since I messed with it.

Well I installed the 580M this AM and so far so good;nice temps low 40's at idle. Now my machine restarts so much faster, used to be like 20 second lag till the Alienhead and also it wakes up from sleep everytime. Now just gotta get Widezu69's Vbios installed and I'm off to some benching :D

I made a system image with the 6990 installed in case I want or need to go back to that. Still can't get rid of this friggin' toolbar permanently!

So I installed it today,it's showing up in the bios,Nvidia Inspector, and GPU-Z, yet when I tried Passmark Graphics Test it says I'm running on Intel Graphics. Can someone tell me how to turn this beast on?

If you don't care about the integrated and optimus, i'd just go to bios, advanced, video, set PEG as main display. That way it's always on.

I recently put together a M17x-R3 from scratch with the 580M, sucks that we need to unlock the BIOS in order to get things going lololol. Oh btw, I'm new here but I love computer hardware so I'm not so new to that!

You don't need to use the unlocked bios, it'll just remove optimus.

Hi there. I've just downloaded the latest nVidia Inspector. As soon as I open it, the whole thing is greyed out with the exception of a dumpfile option. Do I have to pay through Paypal to activate it?
