Hi,
I'm still getting used to my new Alienware 17; mostly positive compared with my old Dell Precision, but there's one thing that I do miss and that's the option for scaling in the Nvidia Control Panel; there's a couple of old programs that are not too happy in 16:9 that I used to run on the Precision using the option that ran the prog in 4:3 quite happily with merely a black edge on either side of the image - this option seems to not be available on the Alien and I've tried running the program in a window but cannot persuade it to use the full height of the screen regardless of the resolution selected in the game, or in the shortcut.....
I've updated the drivers to 332.21, and also the Intel onboard graphics driver too.
So if there's any way of activating the old scaling option I be grateful if you could share the info!
Regards
Dave

It should be under "Adjust Desktop Size and Position ", is that option grayed out?

I'm just wondering if anyone out there with the GTX770M either has or hasn't got the 'Adjust Desktop Size and Position' in their Nvidia Control Panel menu....

If your Notebook is running with Optimus enabled, you have to adjust scaling options in Intel Graphics Settings.

Many thanks for that info Big Noob; works for me!
If I deactivate Optimus will I get the options back in Nvidia Control Panel, and is there any disadvantage to doing this - my system never leaves the comfort of the table so power use is not an issue; I'm more concerned if I could do any damage, never having had a laptop with Optimus before.....
Thanks for the advice
Dave
