I just finished the installation of win7 on my new SSD Agility 2.. what a huge difference!!!

Installation went without a Glitch and i can't believe the difference from the 7.2k rpm hdd.... beside the fact that win performance index went on disk from 5.9 to 7.7 :D i can really see the difference.

Do you guys want me to run some benchmark? if yes, what should i use? let me know, meanwhile i'll finish to set up everything

Easy on the benching (when it comes to writes). Once you write over all the over-provisioning, your Sandforce drive will start throttling to protect itself. I'd take the time to read this before you start benching the snot out of it.

    Grats on your purchase!

You can just do 1 run of 50 or 100MB. Not the 5 runs of 1000MB like Crystal Disk Mark is default to.

wow, i think i'll do some reading before benching. It's kind of a new world for me all this :)

Thank you to both of you for enlighting me on this. When i'll gather all the info and knowledge i'll move to the benchies :)

Meanwhile everything is working really well

Ok guys i did some research for the sake of (my own) knowledge and here comes the benchmark.

Is it ok? Beside the benchmark i'm really pleased, the system is a lot snappier than it was before. How do i check how long it takes to start up windows?

Yes, this is my first SSD :)
Now i just need to test how long it takes to start up the OS (just out of curiosity)

When i'll be back home in a month, i'll get the second one to build my raid 0 system. I've already had the approval from my wife :D

To test windows boot time use both "windows boot timer" You can Google it. Just know that it times the amount of time it takes windows to boot and load all the start up applications. The time does not include bios post and does not stop when it hits the desktop. It stops when all start up apps and drivers are loaded. My RAID0 setup boots on average of 12-13.5sec. That's with loading almost 80 process' and services.

Also keep in mind that with RAID0 you lose is of the trim function. Im thinking of breaking my RAID 0 set UP and just running it as two separate ssds and load games on one OS and apps on the other. And storage on the third hdd, a 1TB. then i get trim on both drives.

Typing on my phone so sorry for all the errors :p

I use a program called BootTimer. Run it and see what you score.
