    OCZ agility 3 in the M17x R2

    It is compatible, however the M17x R2 is limited to Sata II so you will only see Sata II speeds. However your next laptop may be sata III compatible, so it is still a worthwhile investment. As far as OCZ drives, I can't comment as I have only used intel drives.

    it will work flawlessly. I am running one now in my R2 but like DR said it will run at sataII

    I have a 180Gb Agility 2, they work decently. I can personally recomend them. Other people may not be agree but i had a positive experience untill now. The 3 series is faster but as the others told you, the R2 controller will keep it at SATAII speed, but it will work.

    I use it in my R3 but somehow it will not perform SATA 3 speed...... no matter which bay that I used..... T_T

    but, I think the problem come from my system..... T_T

    Which BIOS version are you on? A09 gimps your speed to SATA 2, while A08 gives you the full SATA 3 speeds, unless this has been fixed by Dell/Alienware.

    In any case, yes any SSD should work in an M17x R2, but any SATA 3 SSD will run at SATA 2 speeds.
