    They will work but you need to have hwinfo to control the fans and you must disable onboard audio in the BIOS for them to work

    Do you know if nvidia opyimus works with m17x r2, if so has anyone triem using am i7- 640m to use as a passthough for mor modern cards, or if you cam use a gtx460m as a pass through for aomethung like a gtx 880m or 980m?

    Also the mother board has trasers for an mpcie near where the bluetooth card goes any one try to solder an extra interface there to try to get an msata to work there? Cause it looks like that interface connects to the esata port? At some point im gonna get a heat gun to try

    There is no Optimus support on the M17x R2 as there is no option to use the internal GPU. It only supports routine over PEG which is why you need discrete graphics card. I don’t know about trying to retrofit msata, seems like a lot of work when you can just replace the optical drive and you already have two 2.5” slots

    Well i habe a modded a10 it seems to have lots of igd options and display options, the msata i just thought would be interesting to do

    Play with IGD options all you like. They have no effect because it’s not wired to anything on the motherboard. The chipset is PM55, which relies on discrete graphics. If it were HM55, you could use the intel GPU. If you find results that prove otherwise, be sure to let us know

    Ill have to wait till i get my hands a i7- 640m, then ill test buy removing both gpu, ill let you know when test this

    Hey all, with NBR and the forums set to shut down at the end of the month, I'm making my rounds.

    I wanted to say thanks to you all for the last 11 years I spent here. I got started here with my Inspiron 1720, and graduated up to the Alienware M17x R1 and later R2. I spent SOOO much time here in this thread in the early days and in this sub. Thanks for all the great memories!
