Welcome to the next installment of the Alienware M17x 'All Powerful' Benchmark thread here on NBR. Mandrake will be keeping a running tally of whose system is rocking the #'s. Thanks Mandrake!

We have enjoyed two previous threads which can be found here:

    M17x Benchmark Thread - Part 1

    M17x Benchmark Thread - Part 2

There are several apps which can be used to benchmark your system. Following is a short list of some which are typically used. There are others and the core benchmarking members will have plenty of suggestions - so ask away.

A word of caution concerning benchmarking... While benchmarking / number chasing can be quite a bit of fun, please be aware that benchmarking your system is pushing your system to its limits. It can and will stress your components. Do so at your own risk - nobody is responsible for this but you.

Finally, as with all threads here on NBR, please remember the forum rules when posting. Any images posted which cause page scrolling will be removed. Repeat offenders will receive infractions. There is no reason you cannot take a moment to resize or use thumbnail previews. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation with this.

Have fun folks and lets see how far you can push the M17x! :D

From this point going forward, please provide a screen shot of your total score along with gpu-z and cpu-z in the picture. Take a look at my screen shots if you don't understand. Please provide a link to an attached screen shot OR an image share site like imageshack.us to have your score posted ( how to post a pic with imageshack). I will only post the top 5 scores in each category so you must "earn" your spot on the this ;). I will do my best to find the screen shots of the best score. If you believe you belong in the top 5 in one of the categories, post the screen shot and I will add it. This should be fun.....

I guess we are not distinguishing between nvidia and ati scores anymore?

there went my claim to fame :( (that is, until I actually bench these ATI cards ;) )

Nope, I am posting ATI or nVidia in the scores but I doubt we see any nVidia in the top 5. So only a R1, R2 distinction.

for ATI cards the GPU clocks will show as what the VBIOS is set to, so if you use a software to OC it will not show

I am using bios to overclock though so I should be ok

Until proven otherwise the only way to OC the ATI cards is through the vbios anyway.

Sadly I have not had a chance to do any runs yet outside of stock ones

The system does not like overclocking inside, so I need to get it outside to cool it down

I sat mine in front of an AC when benching, although not sure if it really made much of a differance. Just wish I had more time with my system, I was shooting to take down both Mandrake and Rengsey. Guess it'll be a while. ;)

Oh, and be kind to your SSD when you take it outside :p

BTW if anyone can find a 920 in the 600-700 range lemme know

Well to shut you all up.....I have some preliminary runs ;)

    3DMark06: 18686
    3DMark Vantage: P13616
    GPU: 13873
    CPU: 12902

The cpu score was weak on the vantage run, I have gotten 13600 on CPU before at similar clocks, that would have put the overall past P14k ;)

Since the GPU clocks are not showing properly in ORB, the clocks were 665/1100. I will be sure to take screenshots for you in the future.

    YOU ALL HAPPY NOW?! ;)
