Well the time has come and i decided i needed to do a reinstall of my OS.

All went well untill i tried out my touch buttons on the top right.

I have reinstalled before and know you must always install the latest OSD and Command centre drivers to avoid killing your lighting effects. The problem i have is that although the eject button works, volume, wireless, CMD centre and Stealth do not. Also i no longer recieve the On Screen Display, for power and such. I have reformatted 3 times now and the last time i installed i followed this driver install guide http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...r2-full-detailed-description.html#post6978195
but still i face the same issue. Any one got any ideas. Before you say it no i cant call Dell as my warranty has expired

To add:- they were working fine this morning and up untill i formatted. All buttons are lit up, just seem to do nothing

If you took your laptop appart might want to double check the ribbon(between the touchstrip and mobo). I had this issue before and removing the CMOS batt and pressing the power button(with no charger and battery) fixed it for me.

I dont believe its the cables as one button works.

    try this?

    power down the system.
    remove battery pack.
    remove ac power cord.
depress and hold power button for a 20 count.
attach battery + ac power cord.
    power up system.

if still an issue, time to open back up again and check cables.

I'll try that now BatBoy. It is deff not a cable issue as all i did was an OS reinstall, i did not open the machine up and it worked fine right up untill the OS reinstall
