    Back in the day when overclocking and watercooling involved making ALL your own stuff , Lapping CPU's and heat sinks was big, anyone try lapping their CPU GPU heat sinks for better thermal contact?

    My 6990m heatsink is lapped, It shaved 1-2C off max temps but that was about it, Idle remained the same.

    Not that common anymore, new heatsinks are a lot better. The temperature drop that you may get out of that is simply not worth it.

    Yea, i noticed after repasting my gpu and cpu, quite impressed, but the duel pipe CPU coolers are a bit lacking, at least i get to mod that, and build a custom laptop cooler,
