    Hello!
I`m looking to replace my DVD RW with a 2nd HD caddy and a 120gb sata3 SSD, but i wonder if this port is SATA 3 or SATA 2 compatible, and if i sholud have issue putting a Sata 3 ssd in a Sata 2 port.

I already bought a OCZ Agility 3, wich is SATA 3.

    Thanks.

    Oh, ok...
Suppose then that the Optical drive bay port is SATA 2, is it functional with a Sata 3 SSD?

Am i able to plug a sata 3 SSD in a Sata 2 port and work without issues?

    Thanks!

it should work fine. I haven't ever done the DVD drive conversion though so idk if there is extra steps to make it work. :(

I was chatting with a Alienware Tech and he didn`t know if it is SATA 1,2 or 3, and he address me to Owners Manual wich does´nt specify either.

The SATA port for the optical drive is SATA II.
A SATA III hard drive will work just fine, but capped @ SATA II speeds.
