    Hello I have Optical Place in my x17 but when I did plug there cable for my home sound system I did not get any sound from my pc ;/ Do I need any Drivers for it ? Im not using Alienware centrer because I did get some errors with my Anti vir software. so I don't know how I can use my optical hole please help ;/
    and I have some "K" hole on the right site of optical do samone can tell me for what that is ?
    ahh and how to use HDMI if I can know 2 cuz I was tryting to conect it to TV but did not worked as well ;/ ^^ thx a lot ^^

    Your in the wrong forum here, you have an M17 NOT an M17x.
    Your post should be in the Legacy systems section.

    Either way if you want to use optical you need to go into sound from the control panel and set digital out to be the default. On Vista/7 they went and made it a completely seperate identified device for goodness knows what reason.

    HDMI - you need to connect it and then enter the Catalyst Control Centre and there should be an option there for setting up a second display when you do that the picture should be displayed.

    The hole is for a laptop lock which lets you secure your machine to a desk or similar.
