Anyone know a company that sells one? I was thinking of removing my optical drive and swapping in another HD :)

Thanks. I love having an ssds raid 0 setup plus a TB of storage :D but Im thinking of splitting the raid setup. Thinking one ssds for os/apps, one ssds for games and keeping the TB for docs, music, movies ect. Made the blu-ray an external because i don't use it too often and the notebook is mostly on my desk, but i still have the option of using it.

Just got the caddy in I ordered, put a 750GB HD in there.

It is a bit harder to open than I expected. The Screen DOES have to be removed....It's all screws and cables though.

Really super easy as long as you keep track of the screws, there's only like 3 or 4 different sized ones anyway :)

    EDIT:

FWIW this is the one I bought, I can confirm it works, I think the seller does have a cheaper one but I knew this one for sure didn't have a bezel which is why I got it.

EDIT 2: Now, how about a 2.5" Optical Bay to put my bluray drive in? :)

    EDIT

See Sig for details. (1TB link). I think the drive comes with both a slot load bezel and tray load Bezel. When i got it i didn't notice the slot bezel so i ordered one else where

Congrats on the new caddy, glad it worked out. It sucks you had to take the screen off, in my R2 I just had to remove some of the inner workings. Works like a charm though love having 1.6tb of space to fool around with :D

    I repped that post...

You pretty much took all the work out of doing this. Wish I would have found it sooner. :)

    EDIT:

This is an LG Bluray drive, hopefully they have a bezel for it :)

    ...

Nope, they don't and they are OOS on that one too :(

Disregard edits. None of them worked.

I think the bezel should be universal. Could be wrong. Worked for my blu-ray burner that came with my R2.

EDIT: Maybe this will work? External Enclosure

Outta curiosity, folks, waddya use all that space for? I still got 80gb left out of the 278gb this 320gb stock hdd offers me. Personally I have about 40albums on here, and about 3 800mb movies on here, along with the games (pcsx2, dolphin, sc2, bfbc2, crysis, blackops, the trial WoW and EVE). I see myself deleting those albums and movies soon, too. 320 is soooooo much space imo.

I also have a huge steam library, about 218 games and I would like them all installed :D I know I can uninstall and reinstall but I would much rather have them all at my disposal lol. Call me crazy but that doesnt even account for my nonsteam games. I have 50gbs of my SSD left, 114gb of my 1tb, and about 80gb on my 640gb in my optical drive bay. Definatly will purchase another 1tb when I get the money lol
