Hey people, I have been reading a little of this guide..

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...21-installing-ssd-tips-tricks-benchmarks.html

Just want to confirm a few things..I have ordered the bog standard 250gb drive with the laptop..so when it comes I plan to take that out and put in the 160gb Intel SSD.

What is the process as that guide mentions about moving users..this will be a fresh install so do I..

Update the firmware first then install the OS? im new to installing an SSD, and some mention setting the controller to AHCI is this correct?

Any help be really appreciated :)

Yea you want it in AHCI. You also want to flash the firmware before installing the OS. Than you can move the user files if you want. Put that 250GB HDD in the secondary slot so you have a storage drive. I keep the user folders on the SSD, but my HDD also has the same setup and I just redirect everything to that drive. Theres a Music, Videos, Documents, Pictures, folders ect, on my HDD.
