My 2 6990m are currently at stock clocks. They're undervolted to .95v. I'm wondering if OCing them at all is an option at this point. I also want to mention that I'm currently using 5% factory OC on my 940xm right now. What are some reasonable clock speeds that I might be able to get these cards to?

    Hey Wein,

undervolting and overclocking are polar opposites. I'd set it back to stock voltage before attempting something. Because AMD Overdrive is very conservative and will only allow you to go so high, i don't see why you can't max out the overdrive limit of 740/1000

I don't think it would be wise to bring them over 740/1000 on my setup :p The two 6990m already take up a lot of power and I have my CPU OCed too. Unless you think I have more OC potential in my rig. I think I'm probably getting realll close to using the 240W my PS has to offer.

do you really need more? You're probably already killing most games with your setup

Not necessarily. Sometimes, to get lower temps and still have some OC' you first undervolt and then bump the clocks. Valid both for CPU and GPU overclocking. You won't be getting max OC' that's true (for that you'd need to bump voltage not lower it) but for the sake of lower temps, why not give it a shot.

i do agree that if Wein isn't after max overclocks, then undervolting might be fine. My temps are already stellar and if i do overclock, it will be near max so undervolting is not for me

You can use Trixx and go with incremental bumps to find your max stable OC'. As for the CPU, there's a lot of potential. You can use ThrottleStop and get up to 3.6-3.7Ghz on all cores.

He lowered the voltage on his cards so he'll avoid tripping the 240W PSU or prevent throttling, having an extreme CPU.

Unfortunately, Wein, we won't be able to give you exact values as cards (and CPUs) can't sustain the same clocks even if they were close to each other on the assembly line. So it's up to you to play with values and find the sweet spot.
