I am familiar with overclocking my Asus boards on deskstop's I build; but I have never done it on a laptop.

I have been in the bios and see the over clock feature which is disabled. I enabled it and looked around and was wondering if there is a guide or some general rules with the M17xr4 and overclocking or recommended settings.....

I don't want to melt the parts or damage the board.

just max everything because your TPD stays @ 45 watt and can go to 55 watts for 56 seconds.
Its more easy to download intel XTU an you can stress test also in it, look if everything is stable.
My multipliers are maxed with no extra voltage (m17x r4, 3840qm)

These chips are capable of 4.2-4.3 at their stock voltage so you don't need to worry too much with the partially locked ones, just watch your temperatures to make sure the heatsink is working well.
