How do you overclock the memory on the R3? Even though I set the BIOS to 1866 it doesn't change. I know it may not make that much a difference, but I like to overclock.

You cannot overclock to those speeds unless you actually have chips that are capable. What RAM do you have at the moment?

I'm going to get shouted at for this, but here goes: There's no point. RAM has always been high-risk / low-reward when it comes to OCing, that's without even taking into account chipset or processor limitations, or the overclock actually making a difference in terms of performance (it won't).

@Serephucus I'm not shouting of flaming at you. I know you mean well trying to save use some monies but I think the OP actually want to know if he can do it. Plus some of the stuff people do on tech forums aren't because they need to, just that they want to.

I mean going by your perspective, your desktop shouldn't NEED the Corsair Dominator ram but I'm guessing you added it because of the added reliability and quality it provides in terms of overclocking some of your other components. People push things because they want to or because they want to figure out if they can, not because they need to.

HT, up your bclk...your ram will go up accordingly. You can't do much though...maybe 5% max.

Are you asking how to overclock your ram or how to get the ram to run at 1866?

@widezu69: That comment wasn't meant to be aimed specifically at you (sorry if it came across that way), it's just a general observation from my time here. As for my memory? Well that was a very big mistake on my part when I didn't know as much as I do now. :p

    No problem @Serephucus. It's all good :)
