The vbios version according to gpu z is 012.020.000.029.037460
Does this mean that the bios has already been flahsed?
I got my cards replaced today so I need to know this.. So i can install latest drivers from ATI website directly..
It is just a quick answer for those with R2 and please help...

One way to tell whether or not you have the right vbios (matched for the latest AMD drivers) is to try putting the computer to sleep. If you are using the old vbios, there are power usage issues, and sleep and hibernate won't work properly. If they do, then you have the current vbios flashed.
Also, make sure that the stock drivers are installed before installing the new AMD drivers. If not, then your hardware will not be detected during the installation process. -

Still the easiest way is to check the vBIOS version in GPU-Z.
Check the other card's version by selecting it in the drop down menu in GPU-Z.
If it's this 012.020.000.029.037460 for both, you have the latest vBIOS for your mobility 5870. -

I stayed up till 3 a.m. eastern time to bios modify clock to 850/1200 and install the 11.10 drivers. serious thanks to you all!!
